Key words:

Abstract: The article presents the principle of operation of the beamformer of sonar with a cylindrical array. It demonstrates that a modified beamformer can be used for beam electronic stabilization. The paper presents the algorithm of a digital beamformer used to ensure that the beam’s axis is maintained in a horizontal plane when the ship’s pitch and roll are known. Finally, the article gives an overview of the technical problems of electronic beam deflection.
