Abstract: This paper aims to introduce the preliminary results of acoustic studies of the diving strategy of Arctic birds. It presents the inverted echosounding and noise measurements performed by the Autonomous Hydroacoustic System (AHS) in Isfjorden (Spitsbergen). Both the echograms and the noise record have been analysed as far as the birds’ diving is concerned.
