In contrast to the well-known approach allowing to calculate slowly varying heating due to periodic ultrasound, any acoustic sources may be treated. Subtle temporal structure of thermal lens forming may be traced. Formulae governing the forming of the thermal lens by arbitrary (including non-periodic) source are presented. The process is illustrated by some figures.
